Tink’s venue and place suggestions are built on excellent open data. This page acknowledges those sources and their licences.
Venue data
- Foursquare Open Source Places — Copyright © Foursquare Labs, Inc. Licensed under the Apache License, Version 2.0 (apache.org).
- Overture Maps Foundation — place data from the Overture Maps places theme (overturemaps.org), licensed under the Community Data License Agreement – Permissive – Version 2.0.
Suburbs, localities and boundaries
- Australian Bureau of Statistics — suburb and locality data adapted from the Australian Statistical Geography Standard (ASGS) Edition 3, © Commonwealth of Australia; modified (boundaries simplified to representative points, names conflated and reformatted). Licensed under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0).
- U.S. Geological Survey — United States place names from the Geographic Names Information System (GNIS). Public domain, courtesy of the U.S. Geological Survey.
- Natural Earth — country boundaries (naturalearthdata.com). Public domain.
Maps
- Apple Maps — maps shown in the iPhone app are provided by Apple’s MapKit under Apple’s terms, with Apple’s own attribution.
- Google Maps — map imagery in the Android app is provided by the Google Maps SDK; map data © Google and its data providers, used under the Google Maps Platform Terms of Service.
Other data
- Wikidata — selected attraction data (wikidata.org), available under CC0.
Venue details (such as opening hours and booking links) are additionally compiled from venues’ own public websites and can be wrong or out of date — see our Terms of Service. Our Privacy Policy describes what we collect from you (very little).
